Julie Halliday (nee Bellhouse) gained a Diploma in Graphic Design and Photography in New Zealand. She has worked for the last nineteen years in the design and advertising business in both Canada and New Zealand. She has always had a love and passion for photography and design, continually striving to make images that aspire to be works of art. Now happily settled in the Falkland Islands she lives with her husband and three children. In July 2006 she opened Studio 52 in Stanley, to showcase her work.

“I am incredibly lucky here, I dont have to go too far from home to be inspired. The openness of the landscape has always attracted me, but I also love the contrast between the intimate landscapes and the large open spaces. Photography opens your eyes to the colour, texture, form and shadows. It makes you pause and capture what you see. I hope this selection of works will showcase the Falklands in a good light.”

Julie continually explores the Falklands and feels there is so much more to capture and share.
